چکیده

The present study was conducted on the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and screened for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in muscle hormone genes myogenin (MyoG) myostatin (MSTN). Samples were collected from JangHang fish farm categorized by body weight sex. average total 1.02 kg 82 males 0.63 70 females. A range of ±10% considered as normal weight. Target regions each gene categorized, such promoter region, 5′-untranslated region (5′UTR) 3′UTR. Genomic deoxyribonucleic acid (gDNA) extracted, amplified, sequenced, aligned, presence variations. Three SNPs, 1,875T>A, 1,892C>T, 1,946A>G, one insertion (TGACATATTTCCCTCACA) at 2,138–2,145 detected 3′UTR MyoG gene. However, within MSTN gene, 450 (T) two SNPs 536 (G>A A>A) found 5′UTR. In addition, four insertions 1,278–1,279 (GT, T, TGT, G) short tandem repeat (STR) 1,129 (TG) Exon 1, 4,438 (3′UTR; A>C C>C), 4,514 G>A identified. Principal component analysis (PCA) statistical analyses performed to evaluate relationships between weight, forming 6 41 genotype blocks genes, respectively. We significant correlations traits effective GBG-1, GBG-3, GBG-4 GBN-1, GBN-2, GBN-3, GBN-4, GBN-13, GBN-22, GBN-24 MSTN. These outcomes would be breeding may help obtain data use genetic marker kits. some instances, kits have a distinct advantage improvement genetics, parentage control, identification species, enhancing stock its applications aquaculture.

Short Communication Novel single nucleotide polymorphisms in candidate genes for growth in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

The objective of the present work was to identify and validate single nucleotide variations located in candidate genes to growth traits in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Two transitions were identified in the promoter region of the growth hormone gene (GH); eight nucleotide changes were identified in introns and promoter region of the IGF-I gene; and a transition (T/C) was identified in the M...

The Expression of Myogenin and Myostatin Genes in Baluchi Sheep

Myogenin gene (MYoG) affects the synthesis of muscle myofibrillar growth and increase of meat production. The myostatin (MSTN) gene is identified as a specific negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth. Reduction of the expression level of MSTN throughmutation in the sequence of this gene leads to an increase of myogenesis and regeneration of muscle cells during the postnatal growing period ...

Visual communication stimulates reproduction in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (L.).

Reproductive fish behavior is affected by male-female interactions that stimulate physiological responses such as hormonal release and gonad development. During male-female interactions, visual and chemical communication can modulate fish reproduction. The aim of the present study was to test the effect of visual and chemical male-female interaction on the gonad development and reproductive beh...

Behaviours Associated with Acoustic Communication in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

BACKGROUND Sound production is widespread among fishes and accompanies many social interactions. The literature reports twenty-nine cichlid species known to produce sounds during aggressive and courtship displays, but the precise range in behavioural contexts is unclear. This study aims to describe the various Oreochromis niloticus behaviours that are associated with sound production in order t...

Metacercarial Infection of Wild Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from Brazil

Fingerlings of Oreochromis niloticus collected in an artificial urban lake from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, were evaluated for natural infection with trematodes. Morphological taxonomic identification of four fluke species was performed in O. niloticus examined, and the total prevalence of metacercariae was 60.7% (37/61). Centrocestus formosanus, a heterophyid found in the gills, was ...
